In the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, there are enormous number of societies and clubs, from the beginning, which were covering different disciplines. But there were lack of platforms for supporting emerging entrepreneurs among the students in the faculty. Mr. Dilan Rathnayake, who was a second year student of the faculty at that time identified this gap. He thought that forming a new society for the students who are willing in business field will assist to fulfill that shortfall emerging in the faculty. As a result of that, a society was formed on 28th January 2019 with the participation of few students in the faculty. Out of few suggestions, finally the name “evoke” was chosen as the name of the society. Dr. C.K Benaragama was the first advisor and Mr. Dilan Rathnayake was the first president of this leading society.

Evoke is one of the leading societies in the faculty of agriculture, University of Peradeniya. Evoke society empowers undergraduates to bring together their capabilities and resources to develop entrepreneurship. We create opportunities to connect undergraduates with the business world through training, mentorship, coaching and consulting activities.

We have been able to provide a platform to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes of undergraduates who are aspiring to be future leaders and entrepreneurs. With a focus on growth, innovation and cultivating the entrepreneurial mindset, Evoke society is committed to supporting Sri Lankan economic growth and prosperity.
